You can set up your own call center as part of your business, but there are other options that will allow you to have all of the functionality of a call center without the money and space required to set up your own call center.

If you need to handle a high volume of calls, you will need a facility that will allow you to do just that. The advantage of setting up your own call center is that you can set your own protocols for how to contact potential customers, how to handle complaints, etc.

Being able to set up your own quality-check measures will help you to ensure that you are sending the right message about your company, but it can be pricey to get the technology and personnel required to start your own call center. Thus, if you have a small company, or you don't have a lot of capital, starting your own call center might not be the right move for you.

Just because you work from home, or you don't have a large company doesn't mean that you can't put the services of a call center to work for you. Some companies will set up call centers and allow you to route calls coming into your business to the call center. They will then send any information they gain to you so that you can handle it as needed.

You might also be able to use cloud-computing programs to allow you to tap into cloud-based customer-relationship management software. This can allow you to set up a vastly more sophisticated customer service department than you could do on your own with just a computer and a telephone. 

As a small business, finding ways to grow can be tricky. You need to balance the financial risks involved in buying new technology and equipment with how it will allow you to grow.
